About Mystical Journeys, then, & now...

          Jack Schafer founded Mystical Journeys, Inc.  in 1987, and by 1994 it was considered the premier Experiential Group Travel Provider in the country, moving hundreds of passengers a year from the USA to the areas around the world known for their Sacred Sites and Mystical Power...   such destinations as Egypt, England, Ireland, Peru, Tibet, India, The HolyLand, Thailand, Bali...     Nearly anywhere that a group leader, minister, famous author, or spiritual  teacher wanted to go, they could organize their trip through Mystical Journeys... and most of them did.

          These travel programs were seen on TV, and written about hundreds of time in Newspapers, Magazines and  Books, but most important... these programs changed the lives of the hundreds of our guests  who gifted themselves with these unique opportunities to "experiences...    We organized the "Hands-Around-the-World" peace conference in 1998...  with Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, Hindus... dozens of us who circled the globe to demonstrate  the "Oneness of Humankind"  that transcends all of our differences.  Wouldn't a trip like that be a blessing today !

          The morning of September 11th, 2001 was a moment in time that changed the world as we knew it...  making all of us re-think what we believed about safety while traveling abroad... and now even at home...   and our lives and this world will never be the quite the same.

          The U S State Dept. issued a travel advisory to International Tour Operators like us,   that "until further notice, no groups of American Tourists would leave the country".   That order lasted for less than 90 days, but the loss of all the fall 2001 programs, and the inability to book spring of 2002 trips was enough to cause Mystical Journeys to close its doors...   It had been a fantastic ride... 

          The initial Mystical Journeys in 1987 was an idea that took off and filled a need.  Now it's 2008, and this new Mystical Journeys is a leap of faith...   a dream from another time, and it's clearly up to Spirit to determine to what level it should rise again. As for me...   I'm simply the channel by which this come about, and if it is supposed to happen again, it will be...
